SavItUp ("we", "us") is operated by SavItUp LLC, a Colorado limited liability company. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. The short version: your detailed profiles stay on your phone, nothing reaches any business unless you pick that business and approve the exact fields on a consent screen, and we do not sell your personal information or run advertising trackers.
What we collect
Account. SavItUp creates an anonymous account for your phone automatically — no name, email, or password. You secure the app with a PIN that never leaves your phone. You can export your data any time as a file encrypted with that PIN and keep it wherever you choose; SavItUp never holds a copy and cannot open one. You choose a display handle, state, and ZIP code for community features.
Your profiles. The details you enter (carriers, premiums, coverage, household data) are stored on your device. They are sent to our servers only as part of a request you explicitly submit.
Community posts. Rate changes and savings you choose to share appear under your handle with coarse location (state/area). Amounts you share are visible to registered users; public and aggregate views suppress small groups so individual posts can't be singled out.
Requests you send. When you approve a request, we pass the information shown on the consent screen to the business you selected, along with the record that you approved it. Your details are locked to that business on your phone before they leave it: we pass them on and cannot read them. We send those fields and nothing else, and only to that one business. A quote request carries no phone number and no telephone-contact consent — if you want to speak to a business, you call them yourself from the app.
Technical data. Device push tokens (for notifications you enable), device attestation signals used to keep fraud out of requests, an optional referral code for how you found us, and short-lived web sign-in sessions when you pair a browser at savitup.com. We do not collect advertising identifiers.
App usage. To learn which parts of the app are used and which are not, the app sends us short, named events such as "opened the Apply tab" or "tapped Call on an agency." They never contain your insurance details, your ZIP code, or anything you type. They are recorded under a scrambled identifier that cannot be turned back into your account, your phone, or you. You can switch this off at any time in Settings under "Share anonymous usage."
Feedback and help messages. If you send feedback or a help message from the app, we receive the words you write, the email address you give us to reply to (optional, help messages only), your app version, and which anonymous account sent it, which we keep to prevent abuse. Emails, phone numbers and long numbers are removed from the message automatically. We may publish feedback, without any identifier, on our public feedback board; help messages are never published.
How we use it
To run the service: showing community rate trends, delivering the requests you make, sending notifications you've enabled, keeping the platform safe, and understanding which channels bring new members. Aggregated statistics (for example, median premiums by carrier and state) never include groups smaller than our community minimum.
What we share
Only these: (1) the business you choose, when you submit a request with consent; (2) service providers that host our infrastructure, deliver notifications, chart anonymous app-usage events, and hold our support queue, each bound by contract to process only on our behalf; (3) authorities where the law requires it. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit with certificate pinning in the app, quote submissions require hardware device attestation on supported devices, and data at rest is encrypted by our cloud provider.
Retention & deletion
You can delete your account any time in Settings: your identity, profile, insurance details, devices, and share requests are removed from our servers and from the phone. Anonymous community posts, comments, and votes carry nothing that identifies you, so they are kept and expire on their own schedule. Quote-request records are kept as long as needed for billing and dispute handling with partners. You can also request deletion at the address below. If you lose your phone and have no export, your identity and data cannot be recovered — by design.
Your rights
Everyone gets the same rights here, whatever state you live in: see what we hold about you, correct it, take a copy with you, and delete it. Deletion you do yourself — Settings, then delete your account — and it takes effect without asking us; export is in the same place. For anything else, email us and we'll answer within 45 days. If we turn a request down we'll say why, you can ask us to look again, and you can take it to your state's attorney general. Using any of these rights never changes what the app does for you. A number of states, Colorado among them, put these rights in law; we don't wait to be told which state you're in.
Children
SavItUp is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
We'll post updates here and change the effective date above. Material changes will be announced in the app.
